Job Title:  Carpenter

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Accountable and reports to: Special Project Field Superintendent

SUMMARY
The carpenter constructs interior framing, hangs drywall, finishes drywall, installs acoustic ceiling material, paints, installs millwork, installs interior décor materials, installs store fixtures & equipment, and completes other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Seeking individuals with commercial carpentry experience in interior build-out construction (framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings, painting, millwork installation, etc.). Coordinate work activities with other construction trades as needed. Must be experienced in operation of various power tools and construction equipment. Individual must be safety minded and comply with the established safety work rules. Extensive travel is required.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This is considered a skilled position.  This position is considered Level 4 – Heavy Work according to the Department of Labor Weight Classifications with the primary functions being heavy lifting in nature.  Frequent to constant lifting, carrying, kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, pushing and pulling. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Employee must be licensed and able to drive a motor vehicle. Vision requirements are that the employee must see well, either naturally or with correction. Hearing requirements are that the employee must hear well, either naturally or with correction. A pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen is required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Three to five years related commercial carpentry experience and / or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety work rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and various construction documents. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers, both verbally and in writing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
